• Top Man, Top Man Top!

I'd almost forgotten that lovely tingle of excitement that comes with not only finishing a song from the germ of an idea, working it out, recording it, seeing it grow, getting the band on it, all exciting stuff! But there's still a special, simple wonderful exclamation mark of a thing that comes with hearing it played on the radio for the first time! Old school I know! Especially now at this stage in our career.

So yes, a lovely thing it was to get a message on Messenger from Gary Crowley in the BBC Radio London studio saying "Steve, I'm playing Top Man now and it's sounding ace!" What a Top Man he is. And he's still playing it! A great show by the way, check it out on Catch Up (link)

Yes it's been a really nice journey from the first tentative steps of new songs early last year, a band studio sojourn up a creek in deepest Cornwall laying tracks down, then onto a baking hot Brixton to eat Jerk and finish the tracks, adding at the 11th hour the Top Man Top song!

Ho ho what larks, what larks wuz had!

Meanwhile, until we next meet here's a little homework assignment! See if you can learn my Top Man Top words before the shows (in case I have a memory lapse)!
