2nd Honeymoon 35th Anniversary - Deaf School band site
2nd Honeymoon 35th Anniversary - 24 July 2011
Yes, 35 years have passed since the release of Deaf School's first album, 2nd Honeymoon. This page is a tribute to that great first record which changed the lives of so many young people around the UK and in many far-flung corners of the world (just ask the hordes of fans at the Tokyo gigs in February this year and the North American fans who have been in touch!).
We hope you enjoy this page and if you have any 2nd Honeymoon memorabilia or memories (that you can convert to an electronic file!) please send them in by email to 2ndHoneymoon. We'll feature as much as we can here or somewhere else on the site- thanks!

'Second Honeymoon' brings back so many complex emotions for me....some are inextricably entangled in the lyrics and sounds we created....add to that the terror and innocence of recording onto 'state-of-the-art' technology (was it 4 track?)....then fade-in the wacky assortment of larger-than-life characters that is Deaf School. Thank you, God." The Reverend Max Ripple
What do the band say about the 35th anniversary of their seminal first album ...
Tell me all there is to know about 2nd Honeymoon!
"I have a strong recollection of jotting down the words ‘do you really mean to say, that its all over and we’ve had our day....’ on the back of a ciggy packet one autumn afternoon in Princes Avenue."
Enrico Cadillac Jr
"It certainly brightened up my three day week!" Steve 'Average' Lindsey
"The 35th anniversary of 2nd Honeymoon, blimey! I must have been 21 when we made it and I'm still trying to work out how to play Room Service. Well those 2nd Honeymoons have certainly got legs! I'm amazed." Cliff
